Nice Friday
This morning it was 3 degrees when I went for my morning run. No wind. No clouds. A beautiful day with a high of 30.
Not many people at the Visitor Center this morning. I hope that means they are out seeing the Park after a windy and cloudy Thursday.
I'm going to do a Geology Talk at Sunset Point at 2 pm. I hope somebody shows.
The roads in the Park are open.

Weather report
We had an inch of snow overnight. The overnight low was 16 degrees. The road to Rainbow Point is closed this morning while they plow the road. It should be open by this afternoon. The road to the view points on the Bryce Ampitheater is open.
All trails are open, except the connector trail from Bryce Pt. to Peek-a-boo. The switch backs going down the Navajo Loop to Wall Street are very icy.
This has been a few mild and dry winter so far. Nine inches of snow in December and 7 inches so far this month. We had 6 years of drought, followed by a wet year in 2005. It seems that we are back in the dought pattern again. I've heard there is a slight La nina effect which may be causing the dry winter.

Initial Post
I'm Ron Warner. I created this post to collect my random thoughts and possibly discuss issues that relate to Bryce Canyon National Park. I live in the park most of the year. I work as a seasonal ranger and as a volunteer. I do programs on Bryce and other beautiful places in Southern Utah using my photographs. I cover the front desk at the Visitor Center here often. I know quite a bit about Bryce and southern Utah and like to share that knowledge.
