Weather report

We had an inch of snow overnight. The overnight low was 16 degrees. The road to Rainbow Point is closed this morning while they plow the road. It should be open by this afternoon. The road to the view points on the Bryce Ampitheater is open.

All trails are open, except the connector trail from Bryce Pt. to Peek-a-boo. The switch backs going down the Navajo Loop to Wall Street are very icy.

This has been a few mild and dry winter so far. Nine inches of snow in December and 7 inches so far this month. We had 6 years of drought, followed by a wet year in 2005. It seems that we are back in the dought pattern again. I've heard there is a slight La nina effect which may be causing the dry winter.
