Pictographs

Yesterday I drove south on the Smokey Hollow Road. The panel of pictographs are 4.5 miles down the road, just before Coal Bed Canyon, on the right side of the road. I hiked Coal Bed and Trap Canyon. Not my favorites, but nice places to get away from the human race. Nothing blooming yet, but it won't be long before we are in prime wildflower season.

Foggy Morning

We had thunderstorms and a dusting of snow overnight. The fog this morning was dramatic. Tonight is my Bryce Canyon: Wonder Of Wonders program at the Lodge. Look like a partly cloudy day for Easter with highs in the mid 50s.

Perfect Spring Day

After a cold and snowy March, Spring has finally arrived here at Bryce. The high temperatures should be in the 60s the next few days. Perfect for hiking. All trails are open except the left side of the Navajo Loop[ and the Bryce point to Peek-a-boo connector. Some mud on the Peek-a-boo and on the last few switch backs going down into Wall Street.

Sunset Arch

Yesterday I went to Sunset Arch way out on the Hole In the Rock road. Navajo Mountain can be seen through the arch. It was a beautiful 70 degree day.

Silent City

This is the silent city shortly after sunrise this morning. I will include this photo in my Bryce Canyon: Wonder Of Wonders program at the Bryce Canyon Lodge tonight at 8:00 pm. Looks like fine weather through the weekend.

Navajo Loop Rockslide

On March 25 there was a rockslide that has closed the Thor's hammer side of the Navajo Loop. The Wall Street side is still open and the Navajo/Queens Garden Loop can still be hiked. Today is cold and blustery with rain and snow showers.
