Coral Pink Sand Dunes

I traveled to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park this morning and spent 2 peaceful hours walking on the dunes. The yellow flowers are in full bloom now. This is one of the easiest places in the southwest to get great photographs in the morning before the ATVs get started.

Astronomy Festival

The Astronomy Festival is going very smoothly. 35 telescopes and about 500 viewers each of the first two nights. The weather is great. Clear but warm. Last night I was viewing the Whirlpool Galaxy in my short sleeves.

Sego Lilies

Sego Lilies, the Utah state flower, are now blooming along the Rim Trail at Bryce. These beauties bloom in May in the lower elevations of the Grand Staircase, but bloom in late June here at 8,000 feet.

Another pristine day here at Bryce for the start of the Astronomy Fest.

Drought

We have had no rain this month and only .15 inches in May. The wild flowers have been great anyway. This week we will have clear skies with a high around 80. Great weather for the Astronomy Fest this week - June 21 to 24.

This photo of a Mountain Short-Horned Lizard was taken two days ago of the Riggs Spring Loop.
